The Goal of the Game

Your objective is to finish the game with the lowest score. The game ends when one player reaches 100 points.

How to Play

Hearts is a trick-taking game where you try to avoid winning tricks that contain penalty cards.

1. Passing Cards: At the start of each round, you'll select three cards from your hand to pass to an opponent.
2. Playing a Trick: The player with the 2 of Clubs starts the first trick. Players must follow the suit of the card that was led if they are able. The player who plays the highest card of the leading suit takes the trick.
3. Avoiding Penalty Cards: The cards you want to avoid are:
   • All Hearts cards: Each is worth 1 point.
   • The Queen of Spades (♠Q): This single card is worth a massive 13 points!
4. Breaking Hearts: You cannot lead a trick with a Heart until a Heart has been discarded in a previous trick (this is called "breaking hearts").

The Ultimate Gamble: Shooting the Moon

Feeling daring? If you manage to collect all 13 Hearts AND the Queen of Spades in a single round, you "shoot the moon"! Instead of getting 26 penalty points, you score 0 points, and every other player gets 26 points instead. It's a high-risk, high-reward strategy that can completely turn the tide of the game.
